What The Kids Wore // Kidunk Play Clothing

As a family, we thrive better when outdoors; when we have been indoors for far too long we all get cabin fever and start tearing at the walls like animals. We do all sorts outside and have found that we need different types of outdoor protective clothing to suit different activities and so I was really excited when Kidunk sent me super practical play clothing for T and E to put to the test and review.

Kidunk has skillfully designed comfortable protective for all sorts of favourite childhood adventures, such as rambling in the woods, water play, arts and crafts and so much more.

Kidunk Play Clothing // What we love…

I love how bright and fun the Kidunk outfits are, they have created the play tops with modern geometric shapes and colourful prints and they are very different to other play clothes on the market. The Kidunk clothing sets we were sent had a lovely warming fleece lining, leaving no excuse not to explore the great outdoors in the winter.

Kidunk also sells jazzy wellington boots by Playshoes to complement their practical yet cheery clothing; Kidunk hunted high and low to find wellies with the feature of super soft, cosy fleeced lining that Playshoes have. For safety in the dark or bad weather, there are reflectors on the heels on the wellies. E definitely challenged the wellies with some serious muddy puddle splashing, the wellies fitted perfectly onto her feet allowing maximum jumping height for spectacular sploshing.

Kidunk Play Clothing // The practicalities…

The material of the Kidunk tops and bottoms are coated in Teflon which allows the clothes to resist water and stains. The Teflon also makes the clothes quick to dry; E picked up my steel drinking bottle and went to drink the water from it, instead she poured most of the water down herself, the water just ran straight off the top.

The separate top and bottoms can become a suit, there is a zip with skin-friendly guards on both garments which connect them together. Both T and E needed my husband or me to help them connect the zip, however, both were capable of undoing the zips independently when visiting the toilet.

After all, the muddy puddle splashing and the apple picking the Kidunk clothes needed a wash. Kidunk clothing can be washed in the machine at 40º, tumbled dried on low heat and even cool iron. Simply impressive.

Kidunk Play Clothing // Where can I get one?

Kidunk clothing can be worn outdoors and indoors all year round, they come in seasonal styles to suit the changing weather climate. The splash-tastic Playshoes wellies are retailed at £18.99 and the Kidunks come in two sizes, 2-3 years and 3-4 years old, all can be bought from the Kidunk website with the price ranging from £19.99 to £24.99.
