One of the best pieces of advice I was given was that there is no such thing as bad weather only bad clothing.  Something that has been replayed in my head time and time again as we have prepared for our family adventures.  With Piglet now confident on her feet she wants to be out exploring the world with us rather than hidden away in the pushchair.

An all-in-one waterproof suit is essential for toddlers against the British weather.  The Muddy Puddles Scampsuit is the perfect wardrobe essential to enable outdoor adventures, activities and exploring throughout the seasons.

The Muddy Puddles Scampsuit comes from a company who started on a small farm in Devon around 20 years ago.  Believing that there are four essential elements to children’s clothing: exceptional performance; bright, unisex design; outstanding quality and accessible prices.  Which I’m sure we can all agree with.

Muddy Puddles Scampsuit // What we love…

There is something incredibly adorable about seeing toddlers in a pair of wellies and an all-in-one suit and the Muddy Puddles Scampsuit does not disappoint.  Comprising of two parts, an inner fleece, and an outer waterproof suit. Both with an asymmetrical zip opening which is really useful when attempting to get a wriggly toddler either in or out of the suit.  Complete with elasticated cuffs around the wrists and ankles, and a detachable elasticated bootstrap (to keep those Wellington boots in place).  The large hood has a bit of a point to it which makes Piglet look a little like a pixie when she has it up, but adorable at the same time.

The Muddy Puddles Scampsuit is a versatile product that can be worn in three different ways:

  • Inner fleece – Providing a soft, cosy and warm layer when they are exploring
  • Outer waterproof suit – Suitable for milder days when only protection from rain showers, crashing waves, and muddy puddles is required
  • All-In-One – Attaching the inner fleece to the waterproof suit gives the warm and cosy feeling from the fleece, whilst having the additional protection from the waterproof suit.  Perfect for autumn and winter walks, adventures and even on the ski slopes

Muddy Puddles Scampsuit // The practicalities…

With the option to wear this in a number of different ways, it has been our go-to accessory so far this autumn.  With a big role throughout the upcoming winter months.  As it is machine washable, I can relax knowing that Piglet can splash in the waves, mud or kick up the fallen leaves until her heart desires – as I can easily get it washed and dried overnight ready for more adventures the next day.

Piglet is wearing size 18-24 months which is a little big on her (plenty of growing room for the winter months), however, I think I prefer these types of suits to be on the bigger size to allow for winter clothing to be worn underneath as well as not be too constricting when they are running around (or jumping in muddy puddles).

Muddy Puddles Scampsuit // Where can I get one?

The Muddy Puddles Scampsuit is available to purchase directly from Muddy Puddles.  Available in a choice of three colours, with sizes 0-6 months through to age 3-4 years and priced at £75.00.

  1. I love this! Really need to pick one up for my two year old who has an obsession with puddles! Love that this has a fleecy lining too, I’ve not seen any like that before.

  2. How cute is this puddle suit. I love that it’s lined as well. Something so hard to find with kids waterproofs. I think the hood is really lovely. What a great suit. I agree, so long as you have the right clothing you can be ready for anything

  3. You’re right – there’s nothing cuter than a toddler in a puddle suit and wellies! It’s great to see kids out and about, whatever the weather. This suit sounds as practical as it looks gorgeous, especially with the fleece layer too.

  4. I totally agree with the quote, we don’t bad weather keep us in. We live locally to the beach and we are always down there come rain, wind or shine. Finlay has outgrown his cute little toddler puddle suit but he currently has a wetsuit. Looking to get some wellie waders for winter!
